So, I'm stuck at home with the stomach flu, working away, and thinking about how much I miss "fanning." (Such an odd word. Is there a better word?) There are shows I love, but not one that I want to fan, and the couple I feel like fanning, none of my friends are...um...fanners? Heh. I really need a better noun.

Anyhoo, recently, I started watching Merlin (and I do mean recently -- we're talking weeks only. Netflix streaming is my friend), and I've totally fallen for it. Hurrah! New show to love!

So, here's my question. Anyone one else a fan? And, if so, anyone know where I can find fanfic that is not slash? I'm simply not a slasher, as most know (my mind just doesn't go there); I see a deep and wonderful friendship, and I'm seeking the great friendship stories. Preferably ones that are also great plot stories. I've found a few, but it's a bit slow going, and I accidentally just read a really great WIP...that's a WIP. And hasn't been updated since 2010. That's just cruel. Why do people do that?

Anyhoo...if anyone can point me in a good direction, or towards some authors, or what have you, I would be very grateful! I've also a few story ideas myself, but I wanted to skim some of the stories out there to make sure I'm not treading on too familiar ground (For example, I have absolutely no intentions of writing an "Arthur finds out Merlin has magic" story, partly because I'm sure many stories have that theme, and because I'd rather see how the show does it).

So, any Merlin fans out there that can help? :)
